The microscopic traffic simulator „TraffSim“ supports a number of different models to calculate a vehicles fuel consumption in accordance to both physical (e.g. vehicle mass, road friction, …) and driving-related parameters (e.g. speed, acceleration, …). In the scope of this project, the existing models should be calibrated and validated based on empirical test drivers which have been conducted in a preliminary project. To this end, simulation scenarios have to be defined which resemble the actual test drives in an as realistic way as possible (road geometry, slopes, …). Finally, it should be verified which sets of parameters describes the actual fuel consumption in the most satisfying way, and whether these parameters are within a reasonable range or not.
